COMMUNITY CLEAN UP
On the last Saturday in March we host our annual Community Clean-up and Recycling Event, where we partner with LA Sanitation and Public Works and other community partners to provide an opportunity for community residents to recycle hazardous waste from their households like paint, aerosol cans, paint thinner, medication, syringes, tires, fire extinguishers and so much more at no cost to them. We also provide free shredding of confidential and sensitive documents.
ANGEL TREE CHRISTMAS PROJECT
In December, we conduct our Angel Tree Christmas Project where we solicit sponsors to adopt a senior, at risk youth, or college student by buying them a gift card or age appropriate gift. We either deliver the gifts directly to the recipients or they are distributed through our Christmas Party.
COLLEGE STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM/SUPPORT
Throughout the year we like to provide internships both paid and unpaid to college students to help them strengthen their work portfolio and provide a way for them to give back to the community they live in. We also provide support in the form of gift cards a couple of times of year based on the support of our donors.
We currently serve as a subcontractor for the Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade providing transportation to students from school or home to participate in the an established after school program operated by the Brotherhood Crusade. These students receive tutoring, mentoring, counseling, life skills and job training/placement services. They also enjoy educational field trips and sporting activities.
